Intermediate lines should have a medium sink rate, cast smoothly, and shoot well through the guides. Front taper: This short front taper will turn over better when you're casting into the wind. It's also ideal for casting big flies. Head: Short head will load the rod quicker and throw bigger flies with less effort. Reartaper: This longer rear taper allows you to adjust casting distance for better accuracy. And you can extend the head well beyond the tip when making longer casts. Running line:This large-diameter running line tangles less and is much easier to handle. Line color:This bright line with a clear, 15-foot forward section helps you keep track of the fly's position.
